Thinking about getting that darn right lead for next year´s competitions I took off the spurs, and instead had a dressage crop as my main supportive aid. Wow-my mule is almost oversensitive to the crop. But the good thing is that our sidepass was like butter, no tendency to leak out forward any more!

 

Today we worked on turning butt inwards when outer leg is moving back. Had to add crop, because she was not going to respond to just my leg without spur. And the crop sort of almost spooked her. But in the end she was a lot more responsive to the leg alone. So my plan being that if she responds well to the leg and move butt inward she ought to be easier to get into the right lead as both legs subsequently squeeze into it. She should be nicely curved inwards by then. Seemed to work today?! Ill keep you (myself) posted.

 

The pics are from yesterday though, as my photographer was busy riding her own mule today. I was in sidepull and western saddle today...
